How do I print a large print calendar for 2027?

Leave the year at 2027, choose the day the week starts and choose all 12 months or a single one. Pick a type size and a paper size and press download. The PDF has a page for each month, in landscape, so that each day is a wide box.

For one person, print on Letter or A4 and use 24 point. Hang the current month on the fridge or beside the phone. For a bedroom wall, or a notice board where several people will read it, print on 11 x 17 inch paper, which gives the biggest boxes, and choose 28 point.

Which day does 2027 start on?

New Year's Day 2027 falls on a Friday. The calendar checks this for you, and it places 1 January in the Friday column whether your week starts on Sunday or Monday.

You can change the year if you need another. The tool works for any year from 1900 to 2200, and the page always uses the same rules for leap years, so February 2028 will have 29 days.

How can I use a large print calendar in an activity room?

An activity coordinator can print the month on 11 x 17 inch paper, fill in each day's activity by hand in a dark marker, and put it up where residents can see it. Make the first copy readable from across the room. Say the day and the date aloud when you walk in, and point to it on the wall.

Keep the wording short. "Bingo 2 pm" reads more quickly than a sentence. Use the same word for the same event every month, so residents learn the pattern. A large print bingo card is a good activity for the box on a Tuesday, and in December the Christmas carols give a sing-along a place on the schedule.

Give each resident a small copy in Letter size too, if they want one for their own room. Some coordinators write the month's events in the boxes and copy the page for everyone, and some give the family a copy at the start of the month. Copying is allowed. Each page says at the foot that it may be copied freely for personal, family, church, library and activity-room use.

Can I write on the calendar?

Yes, that is what it is for. The boxes are large enough for a few words in a marker or a thick pen. Use a dark ink. Pencil is often too faint on a printed grid, and pale colored pens disappear against cream paper.

If you need more space to write than a box gives, use a separate page. The large print lined paper has bold lines at half-inch, three-quarter-inch or one-inch spacing for a longer note or a list of things to do that month, and you can keep it behind the calendar page. To make a list of your own appointments, such as doctors' visits, paste them into the large print maker and print that with the calendar.
