On Letter and A4, a name goes in its box only if it fits at 18 point; otherwise the box shows an asterisk (*) and the name is printed under the grid. Federal holidays are checked against the list of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM); the other dates follow the usual rules for the day.
May 2027 has two dates that matter to families. Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May, which is 9 May in 2027. Memorial Day is the last Monday of the month, 31 May, and it is a federal holiday: federal offices will be closed, and many banks and post offices too.
Mail a card about a week before Mother's Day, and write the date you will send it. If you are phoning or visiting, write the time so the family can plan around it.
What should I write on the May 2027 calendar?
May is a natural month for outdoor plans. Write in a family barbecue on Memorial Day weekend, the first outdoor afternoon of the year, or the first day for the garden. If you keep a list of things to check before summer, such as the fans, the sunscreen and the windows, give each task its own date.
