Holiday days are shaded. On 11 x 17 paper the names are printed inside the day boxes. On Letter and A4, a name goes in its box only if it fits at 18 point; otherwise the box shows an asterisk (*) and the name is printed under the grid. Federal holidays are checked against the list of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM); the other dates follow the usual rules for the day.
December is the busiest month on the wall. Federal offices are closed on Friday 25 December for Christmas Day, and Christmas Eve is a Thursday, so plan any errands, pharmacy visits and mail for the week before. The last date for cards to arrive on time is a good one to write in early.
If you host or visit, use the boxes for who is arriving and when: write the name and the time of the train or flight in large letters. Add the church service or the carol sing-along to the 24th, and print the words in big type so everyone in the room can join in.
What should I write on the December 2026 calendar?
Write each medication refill date in the first week of the month. Pharmacies close early on the 24th and are often closed on the 25th, and a missed refill in the holiday week is hard to fix. On 31 December put a note to turn the calendar over, and to copy the birthdays and regular dates on to next year's pages.
