How do you keep score in rummy?
In basic rummy the aim is to get rid of every card in your hand, by laying down sets, adding to sets already on the table, and discarding one card at the end of each turn. The first player to use up their cards goes out and ends the deal.
Everyone else then counts the cards still in their hand. The winner of the deal adds those totals to their own score, according to Pagat.com's description of straight rummy. Players agree beforehand whether to stop after a set number of deals or when someone reaches a target total. Write the agreed target at the top of the sheet so nobody has to remember it.
Some groups score the other way round, with each player recording the points left in their own hand and the lowest total winning. If your table plays that way, use the same sheet and note it in the margin.
What are the card values in rummy?
The values are easy to hold in your head, but a printed reminder saves arguments. These are the standard counts for cards left in hand.

A few groups count aces as 11 or 15 instead. That is a house rule, so write yours on the sheet before the first deal.
A valid set is either three or four cards of the same rank, or three or more cards in a row in the same suit. Two to four people is the usual table for basic rummy, with seven cards each for three or four players and ten each for two.
How do you use the large print rummy score sheet?
Write each player's name at the top of a column. At the end of every deal, one person calls out the points and another writes them in the next row. Read each number aloud as it goes in, so a player who cannot see the page well can check it by ear.
If reading small print across the table is hard, print on 11 x 17 inch paper at 28 point, and pass the sheet to whoever is keeping score. Use a thick felt-tip pen. A wider line is easier for many people with low vision to see than a ballpoint stroke.
