Who wrote Holy, Holy, Holy and when?
Reginald Heber was an Anglican clergyman, later a bishop. Wikipedia says he wrote the hymn while vicar of Hodnet in Shropshire, where he wrote more than a hundred hymns. It was first printed after his death, in a hymn selection for the parish church of Banbury in 1826, and then by his widow in 1827.
It was intended for Trinity Sunday and is a paraphrase of Revelation 4. John Bacchus Dykes wrote the tune Nicaea for it, and the pair appeared in Hymns Ancient and Modern in 1861. Wikipedia describes it as one of the few hymns that appear in nearly every hymnal.
When is Holy, Holy, Holy sung?

A service needs one for every seat and about five extra; a sing-along needs one for each person so nobody has to lean over a neighbor; a care-home visit needs one for every resident and one for each helper. Choose cream paper with a matte finish, since glossy stock glares under ceiling lights. It is a short hymn of four verses, so it works well as the opening sheet in a service folder. Print it at 24 point so the group can read it while standing.
